Cory Vernon

Cory is a Managing Director in the lead tax practice servicing GTM’s Pittsburgh office. He specializes in providing federal, state, and international tax services to large multinational corporations in manufacturing, service, and utility industries. Cory is well-versed in tax provision calculations under ASC 740 and financial statement presentation. He is a specialist in the ONESOURCE provision and income tax software products.

He joined the firm in January of 2006. While at GTM, he has provided tax compliance, tax accounting and planning services to help clients reduce their tax liability and create efficiencies. As Pittsburgh’s lead service provider for ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Cory uses his ASC 740 knowledge to help clients properly implement and utilize the software and has assisted in training both staff and clients how to use it effectively.

Cory’s goal is to provide his clients proactive, high quality service as efficiently as possible through tax planning and preparation while continuing to grow professionally. He also strives to help others in the firm succeed through mentoring and being a valuable resource.

Cory was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. He, his wife, and three children reside in Mars, PA. His hobbies include golfing and spending time with his family. He enjoys watching and attending, Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers games.
