Juan is a Director within GTM’s lead tax practice, working from the firm’s New York Metro office. He is responsible for managing corporate income tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, and consulting engagements for clients in a broad range of industries. Juan brings extensive experience in federal, state, and international taxation to GTM’s clients, and has successfully completed compliance, audit, and financial reporting cycles in many jurisdictions.
Prior to joining GTM, Juan held roles of increasing responsibility for various companies in the pharmaceutical industry, including his position as the global director of tax and treasury at Evotec (US), Inc. In this role, he guided internal and external resources across all US tax compliance and global external reporting workstreams, while serving as the company’s key in-house technical resource.
Juan began his career working at Celgene Corporation where he focused on the quarterly and year-end provision as well as the international aspects of the US tax return. After leaving Celgene he had the opportunity to expand his experience by focusing on all provision and compliance needs, tax research, planning, controversy, transfer pricing, and cash planning initiatives which are key factors to a tax departments success. Juan is knowledgeable in both CorpTax and ONESOURCE compliance platforms. His wide range of experience, combined with GTM’s resources, allow him to clearly understand his client’s needs and be a trusted advisor.
Juan currently lives in Morristown, NJ with his wife and two kids. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys watching and playing soccer and running.
