Jarek Filak

Jarek is a Senior Manager in GTM’s International Tax Practice based in the NY Metro office. He is focused on managing the U.S. international tax compliance process for clients across a variety of industries. Prior to joining GTM, he was an international tax professional for over ten years, working for both public and private companies including companies such as PwC, News Corporation, AIG, Morgan Stanley, and Ingersoll Rand. Jarek has extensive experience with calculating and/or analyzing foreign source income, foreign tax credits, subpart F income, E&P and associated tax pools. He has managed calculations for FIN18, Subpart F, and preparation of forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1065 with appropriate statements, disclosures and analysis. His tax software skills include CorpTax and OneSource, in addition to MS Excel including pivot tables, V- and H-lookups, and macros. His excellent communication skills and personality make him a great team member who can communicate with any level of a client’s organization. He resides in Skillman, NJ. He was born in Poland where he was a professional volleyball player and switched career gears in the United States to a CPA.
