The Supervising Senior Tax Analyst will review more complex corporate federal and state tax returns, audit quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions prepared by staff, assist managers in the monitoring of work flow and deadlines, and serve as a leader and mentor to junior staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding to support the tax compliance and tax provision process
  • Demonstrate understanding of tax return filing requirements for foreign operations
  • Conduct federal and state tax research and draft/review memorandums to support tax return filing positions and special projects as required, with the goal of minimizing tax expense
  • Demonstrate understanding of ASC 740 and ability to prepare income tax accrual calculations
  • Manage, oversee, and act as the “point person” on small/ medium engagements
  • Stay in tuned with developments and changes in tax law and accounting procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or MST preferred
  • 5 years of progressive corporate income tax preparation and experience working in either a corporate tax department or professional services environment
  • 5 years of corporate tax preparation software experience: Corptax, ONESOURCE, or GoSystem RS preferred
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge with online tax research tools (CCH, RIA, BNA)
  • Demonstrate leadership and the ability to effectively problem solve under pressure
  • Excellent advisory and compliance skills

Job Description:

GTM is currently seeking a Tax Automation Services (TAS) Manager for our Wayne office.  The Tax Automation Services Manager will oversee the functional and technical direction of projects, including the implementation of tax automation software and related processes, requirements analysis, tax process design and configuration.

GTM’s TAS department is a client facing team that provides tax technology consulting services to the market, most commonly focused on corporate income taxes.

The TAS Manager would work directly with other members of the TAS team and clients on a regular basis, managing projects related to multiple software offerings and taking responsibility for the quality of client deliverables. The existing TAS management team will work together to train the TAS Manager on GTM standards and product functionality.   • Perform document storage/retrieval and hyperlinking of invoice images to line items in transaction data spreadsheets
  • Implement repetitive process streamlining through development of complex data queries, pivot tables, macros, and V-look up functions
  • Design, build, and maintain client-specific data warehouse, including generation of customized reports on a periodic or ad hoc basis
  • Organize and maintain large, complex client datasets and reports using MS Excel, MS Access, GTM web data system, GTM data warehouse, and SharePoint
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 1-3 professionals

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience, consulting background a plus
  • Working knowledge of tax research tools such as CCH, TTR, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Access, Excel and Word
  • Basic understanding of various tax and ERP software products, such as Vertex, SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive individual with ability to independently find new solutions and add efficiency to existing processes
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time
