Global Tax Management (GTM), one of the nation’s premier professional services firms focused exclusively on delivering corporate tax services, announced today that its GTM Training Institute is now accepting registrations for a brand new online training program, Corporate Tax Provision Fundamentals – ASC 740, to begin this April.

Accounting for income taxes under US GAAP (ASC 740) and other standards for domestic and multinational companies, including those within certain regulated industries (e.g., utilities, insurance, etc.) remains high on the risk profile for material misstatements and errors in financial reporting. This practical, instructor-led online learning program draws upon GTM’s broader income tax and provision training program curricula launched in 2022, to help in-house tax and finance department staff become stronger in their understanding and practice of the nuanced and often complex income tax provision process. No other training program like it exists on the market today.

Corporate Tax Provision Fundamentals – ASC 740 is comprised of 14 live classes (each 75-minutes in length) over a 28-week duration that also includes office hours with program instructors in the alternating weeks. Classes cover a range of immersive material including an introduction to ASC 740 principles and mechanics, the nuances of valuation allowances, international tax provision issues, and the tax effect of business combinations. Participants who complete the program can earn up to 21 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

Registration is now open for the upcoming session, which begins on April 20, 2023. Learn more and view a description of all classes in the program here.
