Ajo George is a Director in the lead tax practice based out of GTM’s NY Metro Office. He is responsible for managing corporate compliance and tax accounting engagements. He has more than 15 years of experience leading worldwide tax accounting processes, including completion of the tax provision under ASC 740, footnotes and other disclosures, as well as developing personnel. He is also well versed in reviewing federal and state income tax returns.
Since joining GTM, Ajo has primarily focused on leading clients’ quarterly and annual tax provisions, automating and improving current processes, managing tax compliance engagements, preparing carve-out financials, onboarding new clients, and helping clients understand areas of opportunity. He strives to understand the clients’ business to optimize tax opportunities, to mitigate risk and to ensure each are prepared for tax law changes.
Prior to joining GTM, Ajo worked at a fast-paced startup, GoPuff, and at an established large multinational, Paramount (FKA Viacom). Prior to his private industry experience, Ajo started his career at Deloitte. Along with spearheading the provision and reporting process, his other accomplishments include, analyzing the impact of various transaction and tax law changes (TCJA), ERP implementations, transforming SOX Controls, automation and process improvements, international modeling, and most importantly, collaborating cross functionally.
Ajo lives in Wayne, NJ with his wife and two children. He enjoys working out, real estate investing, personal financial planning, and spending quality time with his family.
