Chau is a Managing Director in Global Tax Management’s State and Local Tax (SALT) Practice, focusing on direct (income and franchise) tax. She specializes in leading and coordinating state and local tax consulting engagements with companies in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and service industries.
Chau joined GTM in 2014 and has over 16 years of state and local tax consulting experience. She has a strong background assisting companies with restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, technical memoranda, tax return filing positions, tax return reviews, and other advisory services.
Prior to joining GTM, Chau served as a Managing Director of KPMG’s State and Local Tax Practice. Her achievements include assisting clients with audit defense and negotiations resulting in reduced tax assessments, assisting with post acquisition integration and restructuring, conducting due diligence and identifying significant tax exposures, and reviewing tax returns to significantly reduce tax liabilities. Chau also spent a three month secondment in the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) office.
Chau resides in Collegeville, Pennsylvania with her husband and three children. In her free time, Chau enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling. She is also co-author of the 2005 through 2013 Pennsylvania Tax Handbooks, published by American Lawyer Media.
